Self-Esteem
---Self-esteem seems to be one of the big ones that we deal with. When we feel good about ourselves we reflect that in all that we do. Our needs and preferences are definitely more realistic.
---Self esteem goes hand-in-hand with self-acceptance. The more we find our self esteem to be, the more acceptable we will be to ourself and others. If you find this difficult at first, don’t lose heart. It becomes easier as the esteem kicks in and increases.
---The question would be this…how to increase our self-esteem? Self esteem increases when we feel good about ourself. It basically hinges itself on that. The deal breaker is if one feels himself to be good enough or not. It is important to be honest on this point. Any non-realness in here, will wreek havoc down the line.
---As a side note to this: I was talking to a doctor of sociology who mentioned that people should feel that they are wonderful, fabulous, etc., and so on. My feeling is that folks tend to get lost in these words without an appropriate feeling to support it, and then they are just words they are using. You are never really sure where they stand on the good enough issue. So, I stand firm on self esteem. The deal breaker is one if the person really KNOWS that he is ‘’good enough,’’ or is still struggling with this. When being good enough is firmly in place, then proceeding is a very natural thing.
